Ukraine gets observer status in Southern African Development Community

On behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa Liubov Abravitova presented a letter of accreditation to Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community Elias Magosi, certifying that Ukraine got observer status in this international organization.

"Today is an important day. Ukraine got observer status in the Southern African Development Community (SADC)... During the meeting, which took place after the official ceremony of handing over the letter of accreditation, possible ways of developing dialogue and strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and SADC were discussed," the Ambassador posted on Facebook.

She stressed that SADC is an influential international organization on the African continent that unites 16 countries of Southern Africa.

As reported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs works towards organizing the second African tour of Ukraine’s top diplomat Dmytro Kuleba in the summer and holding the Ukraine-Africa summit.
