The Russian Federation failed to physically eliminate President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky so now the aggressor state will try to eliminate him politically.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

”The Russian Federation did not drop the task of removing Volodymyr Zelensky from the agenda. They did not succeed in physically liquidating the head of the Ukrainian state, so now they will try to engage in his 'political liquidation,'" Danilov said.

According to the NSDC secretary, Russia seeks political liquidation of the president of Ukraine because he ”has shown and proven to the whole world that he is the leader of our nation, the leader of our country. The Russians are definitely not happy with it.”

Commenting on the possible threat of physical elimination of the Ukrainian president, the NSDC secretary pointed out that there was a "hot period" in this regard in late February and early March last year. "We’re not observing this now but the threat to the president always exists. Therefore, the relevant agencies work out all these issues as they should," Danilov added.
