President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida signed a joint statement on the special global partnership between the countries.

The signing ceremony took place ahead of the press conference of the leaders in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"This document reflects our values, which we defend together, and our aspirations, which have yet to be implemented. We have achieved the most meaningful relations over more than 30 years, but this is only the foundation for what we can achieve in the future," Zelensky said.

The President believes that Ukraine–Japan partnership strengthens global security and brings the time, when we will finally be able to restore peace and guarantee the Ukrainians and all peoples of the world stability, closer.
