Xi Jinping arrives in Moscow for talks with Putin

The plane carrying the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, arrived in Russia, has landed at Moscow's Vnukovo airport.

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the Telegram channel of the Russian state information agency.

Dmytro Peskov, the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom the ICC suspects of war crimes, told reporters that the meeting between the leaders of the two leaders will take place at approximately 16:30 Moscow time. This will be a face-to-face conversation followed by an informal lunch. The official talks of the two delegations are scheduled for 15.00 tomorrow, March 21.

In addition to bilateral issues, the leaders of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China will discuss the plan for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, put forward by Beijing. "Here, of course, comprehensive explanations will be provided by President Putin so that President Xi could, as they say, gets a first-hand view of the current situation from the Russian perspective," Peskov said.

As reported, a few days before Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin, declaring that the Russian president is personally accountable for the forcible deportation of children from occupied Ukrainian territories to Russia.
