U.S., Australia underscore commitment to further support Ukraine

U.S. President Joe Biden and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during a bilateral meeting in San Diego (California) discussed the issue of further support for Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing aggression.

This is said in a statement published by the White House following the meeting, Ukrinform reports.

The leaders “underscored their commitment to continue supporting the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia’s brutal aggression”, the document says.

During the meeting, Biden and Albanese discussed a wide range of issues, including cooperation in the AUKUS format, regional security, challenges posed by China, as well as other global and regional issues.

As reported by Ukrinform, a meeting of the leaders of the AUKUS countries (Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States) was held in San Diego on Monday. U.S. President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during the bilateral meeting discussed the challenges posed by China, the continued support for Ukraine, and other global issues.
