Sweden's support for Ukraine grows to EUR 1.2B – PM

Sweden has provided Ukraine with EUR 1.2 billion, including EUR 135 million in humanitarian aid.

Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson stated this at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Kristersson noted that even before the Russian invasion, Sweden was among the largest donors of bilateral support for Ukraine. This year, Sweden’s support increased significantly - up to EUR 1.2 billion.  Sweden also provides significant assistance through the European Union, with the total support now reaching EUR 67 billion.

He also assured that Sweden would continue to provide support to Ukraine in both economic and defense sectors.

The Prime Minister added that Sweden had provided EUR 135 million in humanitarian aid since February 24. According to him, the country also decided to increase humanitarian support to Ukraine this year as well.

As reported by Ukrinform, Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson arrived in Ukraine on February 15.
