G7 Ambassadors expect High Council of Justice to start working as soon as possible

The ambassadors of the countries of the Group of Seven expect the appointment of eight new members of the High Council of Justice by the 19th Extraordinary Congress of Judges and the earliest possible start of its work.

“G7 ambassadors look forward to the Congress of Judges appointing 8 new members of the High Council of Justice from the pool of candidates vetted by Ethics Council. Making the HCJ operational ASAP is an important step in Ukraine’s judicial reform, in line with its European path,” the diplomats posted on Twitter.

As reported, the 19th Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine will be held on January 11-13. There will be two main issues on the agenda: the election of eight members of the High Council of Justice and two judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine upon recommendation of the Congress of Judges.
