Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan have discussed security cooperation regarding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, the exchange of prisoners and the grain agreement.

Zelensky said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"Spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Discussed security cooperation, in particular ZNPP, there should be no invaders there, the exchange of prisoners of war, the grain agreement development. Glad to hear that Turkey is ready to participate in the implementation of our peace formula," the post reads.

Erdogan in a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 5 said that peace efforts should be supported by a unilateral ceasefire and "a vision for a fair solution."

The Kremlin's press service, in turn, reported that during the call with Erdogan, Putin declared his openness to a "serious dialogue" provided that Kyiv takes into account "new territorial realities."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on December 29 that Russia refuses to negotiate with Ukraine on the basis of a "peace formula" proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
