Zelensky sees just peace as no compromises on Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty

In the war unleashed by Russia, just peace is no compromises on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. There can be no just peace for parents who lost their children due to Russian armed aggression.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with United States President Joseph Biden in Washington, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“What is just peace? It is a philosophical question. Can we talk about just war? I think, for all of us, just peace is different. What is it for me as the President? No compromises on our land, territorial integrity, our sovereignty,” Zelensky said.

In his words, just peace provides for the reimbursement of all the damage caused by Russian armed aggression.

At the same time, the President of Ukraine believes there can be no just peace for those parents who have lost their son or daughter on the front.

“What is just peace for them? Money are nothing to them. They are not interested in any compensation. They live by revenge. War is a tremendous tragedy in general, and the longer it lasts, the longer that Russian armed aggression lasts, the more there will be such parents who live for the sake of revenge. Because they have no other reason to live. This is what I see, and I know such people. There is no just peace in the war brought to us by these – I cannot even find a proper word, as we are at the White House – by these inhumans,” Zelensky stressed.

A reminder that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is paying an official visit to the United States. The bilateral meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and United States President Joseph Biden has already taken place at the White House. Later, the President of Ukraine will also deliver a speech to the United States Congress.
