Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak has met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey R. Pyatt and U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink.

The parties discussed assistance in restoring Ukraine’s energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks.

The relevant statement was made by the Office of the President of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Yermak, Geoffrey Pyatt’s visit to Ukraine is especially relevant today, on the day when Russia launched another missile attack.

“You can personally see the atmosphere in which we live, but at the same time we continue fighting,” Yermak said.

On behalf of the President of Ukraine, Yermak thanked the United States, President Joseph Biden and Congress for supporting Ukraine.

Yermak briefed Pyatt and Brink on the consequences of Russia’s recent missile attack on civil infrastructure.

In his words, Ukraine needs equipment and other assistance to quickly restore heat supply and energy facilities after Russian missile strikes.

“Nowadays, Ukrainians are more united than ever, they have been showing resilience and courage for nine months. In order for people not to lose this spirit, it is necessary to take care of quality support for citizens in critical moments,” Yermak noted.

The representatives of the United States assured the Ukrainian side that they are ready to provide assistance, namely the necessary equipment, for the effective support of the Ukrainian people.

A reminder that, on December 16, 2022, Russia launched another massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. According to Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko, nine energy objects were hit. Emergency blackouts were introduced all over the country.
