Zelensky thanks German MPs for recognizing Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked members of the German parliament, the Bundestag, for a historic decision to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide against the Ukrainian people.

The head of state said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"Germany has recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide. I thank members of the Bundestag for this historic decision. The truth always wins," Zelensky said.

On November 30, Germany recognized the Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian people. The Bundestag voted for a respective resolution. The document was adopted by a majority vote, without counting, by a show of hands. Four factions voted in favor of the document. The leftists and Alternative for Germany abstained.
