Zelensky receives Oxi Courage Award

President Volodymyr Zelensky has received the 2022 Oxi Courage Award for his courageous leadership defending Ukraine.

The non-profit Oxi Day Foundation announced this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

“President Volodymyr Zelensky accepts the Oxi Courage Award for his courageous leadership defending Ukraine… and for saying NO (Oxi) to terrorism and hate,” the foundation wrote.

The awards ceremony took place at the US Institute of Peace in Washington.

It is noted that the award was presented by Jake Sullivan, the national security advisor to the U.S. President, and Ukraine’s Ambassador Oksana Markarova received the award on behalf of Zelensky.

President Zelensky in his video address thanked all the friends, leaders and U.S.people, who are helping to bring victory for Ukraine closer.

The Oxi Day Award is given annually to a man or a woman who has taken courageous action that contributed to the promotion or preservation of freedom and democracy.
