The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, Marketa Pekarova-Adamova, has proposed establishing an international tribunal to bring to justice Russian citizens guilty of crimes against Ukraine, which will help prevent the undermining of the international order.

She said this in her speech at the First Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I want to use this opportunity to propose concrete steps - to create an international tribunal for [Russian] crimes against Ukraine in order to bring the aggressors to justice. This includes Russian military personnel and civilians, their accomplices, who are waging war together," Pekarova-Adamova said.

She noted that such prosecution is a matter of principle. "If we do not achieve this goal, it will be the undermining of the international order," she said.

According to her, the significant presence of the international community at the First Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform inspires optimism for the joint eventual victory of democracy. Pekarova-Adamova expressed hope that the next summit could be held in Crimea, since the war started there and it should end there.

Thanking Pekarova-Adamova for the "powerful messages" in her speech, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said that they have a special weight since the Czech Republic is currently holding the presidency of the Council of the European Union.
