President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expects the Swiss Confederation to support Ukraine’s steps in response to Iran selling its suicide drones to the Russian Federation.

The relevant statement was made by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with President of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Your visit once again shows that it is impossible to maintain neutrality, when there are such extraordinary challenges to the security of our entire continent and humanity as a whole. Russia has now moved to a new stage of escalation and expanded terror against Ukrainian cities, the missile terror with the use of Iranian strike drones. Despite the threat, we see that you are here today; we see that the friends of Ukrainians – the real friends, the brave friends of Ukraine and freedom – are with us today. I thank you personally once again,” Zelensky said.

In his words, the key topic of negotiations was further cooperation in response to the Russian terror.

“I am grateful to Switzerland for the clear and principled condemnation of Russia’s criminal attempt to annex Ukrainian territories. I am also grateful for Switzerland’s support for EU sanctions packages against the Russian Federation. In addition, I expect that Switzerland will support our steps in response to Iran’s complicity, which is now helping Russia to cause terror against our cities by selling strike drones to Russia,” the President of Ukraine noted.

A reminder that Russia is actively using Iranian-manufactured Shahed-136 suicide drones to attack Ukrainian settlements and destroy critically important infrastructure facilities.
