EU Council to consider ninth package of sanctions against Russia tomorrow

The EU Foreign Affairs Council will consider the ninth package of sanctions against Russia at a meeting on Monday, October 17.

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

“The EU Foreign Affairs Council will call for more support for Ukraine, work on the 9th sanctions package against Russia, confiscation of the frozen Russian state assets and the establishment of the special tribunal for the crime of aggression committed by Russia,” the minister wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, on October 6, the European Union adopted the eighth package of sanctions against Russia over the attempted illegal "annexation" of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine.
