Government borrowings to Ukraine’s state budget reach UAH 749B over nine months

In January-September 2022, the government borrowings to Ukraine’s state budget general fund came to UAH 749 billion.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“In January-September 2022, the actual government borrowings to the general fund of the state budget reached UAH 749 billion, or 87% of the target plan,” the report states.

A total of UAH 475.6 billion, including UAH 49.7 billion in foreign currency (USD 1,131.4 million and EUR 473 million), was raised into the state budget from the placement of domestic government bonds.

A total of UAH 443.3 billion came through the issuance of war bonds, including UAH 315 billion bought by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). The external sources generated UAH 273.5 billion.

During that period, the public debt repayments came to UAH 304.6 billion (89.9% of the target plan), debt service payments – UAH 106.1 billion (80.8%).

A reminder that the actual government borrowings to Ukraine’s state budget general fund reached UAH 602.8 billion in 2021.
