On September 2, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine endorsed a resolution on Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), headquartered in Dubna, Russia.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Education and Science Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the ministry, Ukrainian scientists condemned the remoteness and passivity of the JINR representatives regarding the tragic events, which had been taking place in Ukraine since the Russian armed invasion started on February 24, 2022. Hence, the Ukrainian government made a decision to terminate cooperation with the JINR.

The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine ‘On Withdrawal from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR)’ is intended to protect the national interests and national security of Ukraine.
