Russian citizens should not receive any visas other than humanitarian ones.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said this in Copenhagen on Wednesday, Ukrinform reports, citing Polskie Radio.

"I am convinced that dripping water hollows out stone and our actions make sense. I do not remember any German tourists in 1943 traveling, for example, to Great Britain or to other countries of the free world for tourist purposes," Morawiecki said.

According to him, today Russia is "a barbaric aggressor, murdering civilians and committing terrible crimes in Ukraine, crimes of genocide."

"Therefore, Russian assets should be confiscated, […] and the Russians should not receive non-humanitarian visas," Morawiecki said.

He added that he had discussed this issue with other EU leaders, and expressed hope that Western Europe would increasingly realize the importance of this issue.

"I hope that this postulate will also be accepted [in the EU]," he said.

In Copenhagen, Morawiecki took part in a meeting with the prime ministers of Denmark, Estonia, Finland and Latvia and the president of Lithuania. The main topic of their negotiations was strengthening cooperation on energy security in the Baltic Sea region.

According to a survey conducted by the IBRiS center for the Polish news outlet Rzeczpospolita, 71% of Poles support restrictions on the travel of Russians to the EU. At the time, 15.9% of respondents believe that Russians should not be restricted in their right to visit the EU countries. The survey was conducted on August 26-27.

Since February 24, Russia has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine.
