The international community must make every effort to ensure that those responsible for committing war crimes in Ukraine are punished.

"I’ve arrived in Kyiv today and I would like to convey one message: we stand united in our solidarity and support for the Ukrainian people during this unprovoked and destructive war waged by the Russian Federation against Ukraine," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Zbigniew Rau said at a press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Poland’s top diplomat shared his impressions of the visit to Bucha, noting that he "saw an example of extreme cruelty that cannot be explained or justified in any way."

"I would call what we saw and heard in Buch a silent cry of suppressed humanity. Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, and Borodianka, which were once peaceful developing Ukrainian towns, all of them will go down in history as towns where war crimes were committed, where there was brutal and violent behavior against the civilian population," the politician said.

He emphasized that the war crimes committed by Russian troops in the territory of Ukraine "must not go unnoticed."

"And those people who are responsible for these crimes must be punished. The international community must make every effort to bring those responsible for these terrible crimes to justice," Rau emphasized.

The foreign minister of Poland called on the Russian Federation to "immediately stop all hostile actions and completely withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine, respecting its internationally recognized borders."

"The cessation of all hostilities remains extremely important as a precondition for further negotiations. No violence must continue," he stressed.

As reported, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Zbigniew Rau and OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid visited Bucha.
