President appoints Andriy Kostin as Prosecutor General

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Andriy Kostin as the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

This is stated in Decree No. 538/2022, Ukrinform reports.

"To appoint Andriy Yevhenovych Kostin as the Prosecutor General," reads the document

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted in favor of appointing Andriy Kostin as the Prosecutor General of Ukraine on July 26.

Andriy Kostin is a member of the Parliament of Ukraine of the ninth convocation, a member of the Servant of the People party, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy.

Kostin was born in Odesa, on April 17, 1973. He graduated from the Odesa Mechnykov State University, majoring in law. Kostin worked as a director of the Pravo law firm, deputy chairman of the Odesa Region Bar Council, deputy chairman of the presidium of the Odesa Region Bar Association. He is a member of the board of the NGO "Odesa Diplomatic Club".
