No talks ongoing with Russia on ending war - Kuleba

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, stated this at an online briefing on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Currently, there are no negotiations between Russia and Ukraine because of Russia's position and its continued aggression toward our country. So there is nothing to discuss," said the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.

Kuleba recalled that Ukraine's goal in the war that Russia unleashed against its neighbor is to liberate own territories and restore its territorial integrity and full sovereignty in the east and south of the country.

"This is the final point of our negotiating position," the foreign minister emphasized.

As reported, a member of the Ukrainian negotiation delegation, Mykhailo Podolyak, stated that Ukraine's negotiations with the Russian Federation shall remain suspended until Russia looks into the situation objectively.

Subsequently, Podolyak emphasized that the process of Ukrainian-Russian talks can be unblocked if President Volodymyr Zelensky provides a road map for running such negotiations, and if Russia starts perceiving the situation adequately.

The latest face-to-face talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations took place in Istanbul on March 29. At that time, the Ukrainian delegation put forward several proposals to end the war, including the signing of an international treaty on security guarantees for Ukraine.
