Podoliak condemns weak policy of democratic world regarding pressure on Russia

Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, has condemned the weak policy of the democratic world regarding pressure on Russia, which has waged war against Ukraine.

He wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"Russia must not win, but we won’t give heavy weapons - it may offend Russia. Putin must lose but let’s not impose new sanctions. Millions will starve, but we’re not ready for military convoys with grain. Rising prices are not the worst that awaits a democratic world with such a policy," Podoliak said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier said that Russian invaders had stolen at least half a million tonnes of grain in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and were looking for ways to sell it illegally.

Due to the blockade of Ukrainian seaports, 7 million tonnes of wheat, 14 million tonnes of corn, 3 million tonnes of sunflower oil and 3 million tonnes of sunflower meal did not enter the world market. This has already led to a record rise in world market prices and will inevitably result in a global food crisis and rising inflation.
