WHO condemns Russia’s armed aggression in Ukraine

The World Health Organization (WHO) assembly has passed a motion condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which resulted in the regional health emergency.

The relevant statement was made by Reuters, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The Western-backed proposal passed with 88 votes for and 12 against.

According to BBC, this resolution urged Russia to stop shelling hospitals and health institutions.

The WHO assembly is being held in Geneva on May 22-28, 2022. It is the first in-person Health Assembly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The WHO assembly will pay special attention to Ukraine, coronavirus pandemic and other challenges.
