President Zelensky: Lithuania has been among the first to come to Ukraine’s aid

Lithuania has been among the first to come to Ukraine’s aid and remains among those that care most about peace and security in Europe.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his speech in the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Dear Lithuanians, I am grateful to address you on behalf of the Ukrainian people today. You have been among the first to come to Ukraine’s aid. You remain among those who care most about peace and security in Europe,” Zelensky told.

In his words, Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has posed a strategic question to Europe, whether the values that laid the basis for the unification of European nations after World War II are still alive, or they have become obsolete and can serve just as museum exhibits for tourists.

“Just part of Europe’s historical heritage somewhere in the halls of ancient palaces, and not something that defines real life. Unfortunately, there is no common answer to this question for all Europeans yet. But, the future of Europe depends on this. On whether they have a common answer,” the President of Ukraine stressed.

A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on residential areas in Ukrainian cities and villages, torturing and murdering civilians.
