Montenegro imposes sanctions on Russia

Ukrinform
The Government of Montenegro imposed sanctions on the Russian Federation over its aggression against Ukraine.

“The Government of Montenegro has adopted restrictive measures in response to Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine,” Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazović posted on Twitter.

Abazović also thanked all the country’s ministers for their cooperation.

Currently, no details about the sanctions and areas in which they are imposed are known.

According to the local media, the Government of Montenegro managed to adopt a decision on anti-Russian sanctions from the third attempt. Prior to that, various versions of compromise resolutions were proposed, which formally supported the EU's restrictive measures against Russia but did not actually implement them.

Earlier, Montenegro expelled four employees of the Russian embassy.
