Zelensky to Scholz: Sanctions against Russia must be intensified

President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the course of negotiations with the Russian Federation and Ukraine's opposition to Russian aggression with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

“Discussed with [German] Chancellor Olaf Scholz the course of the negotiation process. Reported on the progress of countering aggression and crimes of the Russian Federation. Expressed gratitude for the help provided by Germany. Pressure on Russia must continue, sanctions must be intensified,” the Head of State posted on Twitter.

On February 24, Russian president Putin started the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops shell and destroy key infrastructure, massively fire on the residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages using artillery, MLRS, and ballistic missiles. Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
