Zelensky: Putin should start talking

President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, remains in the "information bubble" and must launch a dialogue to end the war in Ukraine.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with ABC News.

"President Putin should start talking, start a dialogue instead of living in an information bubble without oxygen. I think that’s exactly where he is. He's in that bubble. He's getting information, but I don't know how realistic it is. I think this situation is like a crooked mirror," Zelensky said.

The president has noted that he is ready for a dialogue with Putin and a discussion of the situation with the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and the pseudo-republics “LPR/DPR,” but "for me it is important how people who want to be part of Ukraine will live in these territories."

Zelensky added that, despite readiness for dialogue with Russia, Ukraine will not listen to the language of ultimatums and does not allow the option of surrendering.

"We are not ready to surrender, because it is not about me, it’s about the people who voted for me," Zelensky said.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure, while their missiles have been hitting Ukrainian households.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
