Ukraine’s authorities could introduce martial law in the event of full-scale aggression on the part of Russia.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, who spoke at a joint press conference with the President of Estonia, Alar Karis, in Kyiv on Tuesday, February 22, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"As for martial law, it’s very simple. This issue is clear to us. We believe that there will be no massive war against Ukraine. And there will be no widespread escalation on the part of the Russian Federation. If there is, martial law will be imposed," Zelensky said.

The president added that Ukraine would not hold any talks with the leaders of the so-called "LPR/DPR."

"We don’t talk to them. We don't understand who they are," Zelensky said.

As reported earlier, on February 21, the President of Russia signed decrees recognizing the independence of the two self-proclaimed entities in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. The agreements concluded between these quasi-republics and Russia provide for military assistance to the said entities.
