Ukraine and France will continue cooperation on the return of temporarily occupied territories to Ukraine's control, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

He said this at a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Kyiv on Tuesday, February 8, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We will continue cooperation for the deoccupation of the territories of Ukraine," Zelensky said.

He noted that he has a common vision with Macron on security threats and current challenges to Ukraine, to the whole of Europe, to the world as a whole. "They require unity, new preventive approaches, European leadership," he added.

"Today, support for Ukraine from partners, strengthening resilience and defense capabilities is beneficial for the region as a whole and, I am sure, for all EU countries. Security support is very important, economic support is very important, and we appreciate it very much," Zelensky said.

Macron is on a working visit to Ukraine on February 8.

On February 7, he held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
