Ukraine's position taken into account in U.S. response to Russia's security demands - Kuleba

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this during a virtual briefing on Wednesday, January 26, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"It [Ukraine's position] has been taken into account, and the proposals that the United States will send to Russia in the part concerning Ukraine do not cause our objections," Kuleba said.

He noted that in the Ukraine-U.S.-Russia triangle, the Ukrainian side continues to coordinate closely with its allies and partners, both in the context of consolidated resistance to Russian aggression and in light of the preparation of written answers from the U.S. and NATO to Russia's ultimatums.

"We know very well what our partners will tell the Russian Federation - we are aware of this and this has been coordinated with us," Kuleba said.

U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said at a briefing on Tuesday, January 25, that the United States had formulated a written response to Russia's "proposals" on security guarantees in Europe, taking into account the positions of all allies and partners in Europe, including Ukraine. He also said that the document had not been transmitted to Moscow yet and added that as soon as it happens, the State Department will make an official announcement.
