President announces annual meeting of Ukrainian ambassadors in Ivano-Frankivsk region

President Volodymyr Zelensky called the meeting of the Lublin Triangle leaders and the forthcoming conference of ambassadors in the village of Huta in Ivano-Frankivsk region the beginning of the geographical decentralization of Ukrainian diplomacy.

From now on, the meeting of ambassadors in Ivano-Frankivsk region will become an annual one, Zelensky said at a joint press conference with President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Huta 2021 is the start of a new large-scale process with the participation of more than 300 people. It is a geographical decentralization of Ukrainian diplomacy," Zelensky said.

The summit of the Lublin Triangle leaders is held in Huta today, and a meeting of Ukrainian ambassadors from all over the world will start on Tuesday, he noted.

The President also announced that Ukrainian ambassadors would meet in Huta every year from now on.

As reported, the summit of the Lublin Triangle leaders – the presidents of Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania – took place on Monday at the Syniohora residence in the village of Huta, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The Lublin Triangle was established in July 2020 by the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania, who signed the joint declaration on the establishment of a new regional alliance. Among the priorities of the format is the reinforcement of the region, security enhancement, Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO, development of economic cooperation, joint counteraction to hybrid threats.
