Kyiv Police Chief Andriy Kryshchenko has tendered his resignation.

He wrote this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"I have submitted my resignation letter. And yesterday it was accepted. I spent more than five and a half years standing side by side with the Kyiv police. It was a difficult time of constant challenges and crises, sometimes tragedies and failures and oftentimes successes. We never hid or kept silent. We always honestly and openly told people about our work through the media," Kryshchenko wrote.

Earlier, Kyiv police spokeswoman Yulia Girdvilis did not confirm rumors about Kryshchenko's resignation.
