The newly appointed head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, will focus his main efforts on uniting the region's communities around the implementation of the sustainable development strategy and the president's initiatives, achieving the set goals, as well as attracting investments to the region.

He said this during his first press conference at the regional state administration on August 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"For myself, I have outlined two main tasks. The first is to unite our communities, because we should be in a single partnership, have a single vector of development, both within individual territories and the region as a whole. I want to do this around the goals sustainable development goals and the president's initiatives," Chaus said.

He believes that this task is very important, because without such a union, without cooperation, neither the community, nor the region as a whole will be able to effectively develop.

Chaus defined the attraction of investments as the second task. He noted that he has such experience, including in working with foreign partners, but again, Chaus emphasized, cooperation with communities is also important in this matter.

In addition, according to the official, medicine, sports, border protection and security in the information space, as well as tourism require attention in the region.

On August 4, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Viacheslav Chaus as head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
