Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has held a phone call with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, during which he invited him to visit Ukraine, according to the website of the Ukrainian president.

"I am waiting for our personal meeting in Kyiv in the near future. I am convinced that through our joint efforts we should deepen the partnership between Ukraine and Israel," Zelensky said.

He congratulated his Israeli counterpart on taking office and wished him success in fulfilling his public duties.

Zelensky also praised the dynamics of Ukrainian-Israeli relations and expressed confidence in their further development. "Ukraine and Israel have always been and will remain reliable friends and partners. I am sure that cooperation with the new president and the new government of Israel will be fruitful, and our countries will continue to deepen mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation," Zelensky said.

In this context, the parties discussed plans for the mutual and simultaneous opening of high-tech development centers with the involvement of talented scientists and IT specialists in Kyiv and Jerusalem.

Separately, the presidents discussed the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of mass shootings in Babyn Yar and the development of the Babyn Yar National Historical and Memorial Reserve. Herzog emphasized the importance of implementing this project for future generations. "The memory of the Babyn Yar tragedy will teach the younger generation what cruelty can lead to," he said.

Herzog was sworn in as Israel's president on July 7.
