Crimean Platform needs permanent office – Korynevych

It is necessary to establish a permanent office of the Crimean Platform in order to work effectively on the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea.

"At the beginning of the Crimean Platform’s operation, it will be very important to introduce mechanisms that will allow this platform to work constantly, including the establishment of a permanent office of the Crimean Platform," Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city Sevastopol Anton Korynevych said at the All-Ukrainian Forum “Ukraine 30. International Relations” on July 6, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

To do this, he said, it would be appropriate to offer a number of specific projects for the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea.

As Korynevych stressed, the launch of the Crimean Platform – August 23 – is not the culmination but "a starting point of movement towards the de-occupation of Crimea."

"The de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea are one of the key tasks for the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea as a part of the President's team working on Crimea. Therefore, for us, the Crimean Platform will end when the Ukrainian flag returns to places where it should be – Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta, Bakhchisaray, and other our cities," Korynevych stressed.

The Crimean Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to increase the effectiveness of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, step up international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the main goal of the de-occupation of Crimea and its return to Ukraine.

The Crimean Platform will be launched at the summit on August 23, to which the President of Ukraine invites leaders of many countries.
