Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych considers the adoption of the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Crimea and Sevastopol to be one of the main achievements of his team.

Korynevych said this during a briefing dedicated to the results of two-year work of the new team of the Representative Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"It is very important that Ukraine has finally got this document – the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, which is a fundamental document for all state bodies," he stressed.

According to Korynevych, the strategy clearly spelled out all the main provisions related to the de-occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol, and any state body should work on Crimea as written in this strategy.

He noted that an action plan for the implementation of the strategy is being worked out, which should be approved in the near future.

In addition, the permanent representative stressed that Ukraine has a key instrument for the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea and Sevastopol at the international political level – the Crimean Platform.

In preparation for the Crimean Platform summit, the Representative Office’s team took part in about 70 international events. Some 16 delegations of Ukraine's partner countries have already visited the checkpoint located on the border with the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Korynevych called it very important that in 2020 the Day of Resistance to Russia’s Occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol appeared in the Ukrainian political calendar, which, according to the decree of the President of Ukraine, is marked in Ukraine on February 26 and which supports the narrative of the Ukrainian Crimea.

Anton Korynevych is the 19th representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. His team started work on June 25, 2019.

As a reminder, the Crimean Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to improve the efficiency of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, step up international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the de-occupation of Crimea.

The first Crimean Platform summit is scheduled for August 23, 2021.
