Russia's ongoing destabilizing actions in the Black Sea region prompt Ukraine and Georgia to step up security cooperation.

"The ongoing destabilizing actions by the Russian Federation in the Black Sea region prompt Ukraine and Georgia to work more closely in the field of security, including with the involvement of NATO member states," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi on Thursday, broadcast by Georgian YouTube channel George PanQveLa.

The PM of Ukraine noted that he greatly appreciated Georgia's continued support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, its non-recognition of the attempted illegal annexation of Crimea, and condemnation of Russia's aggression in eastern Ukraine.

Shmyhal expressed hope for cooperation with Georgia within the framework of the Crimean Platform which is aimed at the de-occupation of the peninsula.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine makes an official visit to Georgia on June 2-4. The government delegation also consists of Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov and Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.
