Yenin, Malaysian ambassador discuss opening of ASEAN Center in Kyiv

Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin met with Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine Dato' Raja Reza Raja Zaib Shah in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission.

This was reported by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on May 24.

Yenin thanked the Malaysian diplomat for his efforts and personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian-Malaysian relations, Malaysia's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as cooperation in investigating the downing of flight MH17.

The deputy foreign minister noted the important role of the Malaysian ambassador in the planned opening of the ASEAN Center at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, designed to become a unique cultural, educational and social center for the development of contacts between Ukraine and the ASEAN member states.

The interlocutors separately discussed steps to intensify the political dialogue between Ukraine and Malaysia, and events of bilateral cooperation that will take place in the near future.
