Zelensky expects discussion of Ukraine's MAP prospects to begin at NATO summit in June

President Volodymyr Zelensky expects discussions on the prospects for Ukraine's obtaining a Membership Action Plan to begin at the NATO summit on June 14.

He said this at a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Kyiv on Thursday, May 6, Ukrinform reports with reference to the website of the head of state.

“We ask the United States to help start this process,” Zelensky said.

The president noted that Ukraine continues to carry out reforms, in particular, the land market has been launched in the country, the judiciary is being reformed, NABU and SAP are developing, and the independence of the Constitutional Court is ensured.

He also assured that Ukraine is committed to continuing partnership with the IMF and fulfilling its obligations.

In addition, the head of state noted that the goal of his policy is systemic de-oligarchization.

For his part, Blinken thanked Zelensky for the warm welcome and conveyed sincere greetings from U.S. President Joe Biden, who greatly appreciates the conversation that took place between the two leaders a few weeks ago.
