Ukraine wants to reflect Euro-Atlantic aspirations in NATO summit documents – Taran

This was said by Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran, according to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“Given the fact that at the next NATO summit, the date of which was announced today, the Allied leaders will actually plan the future of the organization for the next 10 years, we would like to once again clearly articulate the seriousness of our Euro-Atlantic intentions. We expect that this position of Ukraine will be reflected in the documents that will be considered in Brussels on June 14,” the minister said.

Taran also noted that a strong signal in the decisions of the NATO summit on June 14 for the world and European security could be a demonstration of loyalty to the decision of the 2008 Bucharest Summit, which declares the unconditional prospect of membership for Ukraine and Georgia.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the next summit of NATO Heads of State will be held in Brussels on June 14. The summit participants will take decisions on the NATO 2030 agenda to deal with the challenges of today and tomorrow, namely: Russia’s aggressive actions, the threat of terrorism, cyber attacks, emerging and disruptive technologies, the security impact of climate change, and the rise of China.
