Turkey is ready to assist in resolving the situation in eastern Ukraine.

"We exchanged views on the situation in eastern Ukraine. We are convinced and we believe that the situation should be resolved peacefully, within the framework of international law, based on the principles of preserving the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We stand for the reduction in the escalation of the situation we are observing, tensions reduction, and implementation of provisions of the Minsk Agreements. We are ready to provide any support in this matter," President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on April 10, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The Turkish leader expressed confidence that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission should continue its activities and work without impediment.

Erdoğan also stressed the importance of launching the quadriga format, which provide for meetings between the defense and foreign ministers of the two countries and strengthens co-operation between the two countries.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky made a working visit to Turkey on April 10.

In particular, Zelensky and Erdoğan held the 9th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council between Ukraine and Turkey in Istanbul.
