Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna has said she thinks that Latvia's support for the proposal to provide a NATO Membership Action Plan to Ukraine is a clear and strong signal to the entire Euro-Atlantic community.

According to Ukrinform, Stefanishyna wrote this on Twitter.

"Thank you, Latvia! Clear and strong message to the whole Euro-Atlantic community from Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics," she said.

Earlier, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics said in an interview with national broadcaster LTV Zinu Dienests that Latvia supports the provision of a NATO Membership Action Plan to Ukraine amid the escalation of the situation by Russia.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics discussed the escalation of the security situation in Donbas in a phone call on Wednesday, April 7.

Early on April 7, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that Lithuania would propose that NATO Allies provide the Membership Action Plan (MAP) to Ukraine, thus allowing the country to become a member of the Alliance.
