Zelensky: Relations with Qatar to reach new level

President Volodymyr Zelensky is satisfied with the first results of his visit to Qatar and believes that Ukraine-Qatar relations will reach a new level.

"I believe that relations between our countries will reach a new level," the President said in a video comment to Ukrinform, adding that a "fundamental" meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister and almost all members of the Government of Qatar had already taken place today.

Zelensky added that 15 documents were signed during the visit, including two commercial agreements and 13 interstate documents, calling it a "great success."

"We have already signed a memorandum. In the near future, we will sign an important document on food security in the region. The Qatari side is very interested in this. We are interested in supplying liquefied natural gas to Ukraine, as well as involving Qatari specialists in the development of our Black Sea shelf," the Head of State said.

According to the President, Qatar is interested in projects for modernization and development of Ukrainian ports, investments in the hotel business, infrastructure projects, banking sector and more.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska make a state visit to Qatar on April 5.
