Ukrainian police officers will help ensure security on the streets of Qatar during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said in a video commentary provided to Ukrinform.

"Qatar will host the World Cup next year. We have also signed all the documents, and our police officers will go to help ensure the security situation on the streets of Qatar during the World Cup," Zelensky said.

He stressed that Ukrainians should be proud of such things, because, according to him, "our people are taken as the best ones" for such events.

President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife, Olena Zelenska, are on an official visit to the State of Qatar on April 5.

The finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup will take place in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
