Ukraine to create register of damage caused by Russian aggression

Ukraine has declared its intention to create a register of damage caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, the temporary occupation of the Ukrainian territory and a register of cultural values ​​and museum collections of Ukraine in this territory.

This is stated in the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol, published on the President's website.

"Ukraine creates a register of damage caused to the state of Ukraine, its citizens and legal entities by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, the armed conflict, the temporary occupation of the territory of Ukraine," the document reads.

In addition, the strategy stipulates that Ukraine takes measures to preserve cultural heritage in the temporarily occupied territory, in particular, forms a register of cultural values ​​and museum collections of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territory and a register of lost cultural values.

It is also planned to create a register of damage caused to the state of Ukraine, its citizens and legal entities as a result of actions of the Russian Federation, its occupation administration, which led to pollution and another negative impact on the environment in the temporarily occupied territory. At the same time, Ukraine undertakes to organize and carry out appropriate litigation activities in international judicial institutions and arbitrations on the issue of compensation for such damages.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol. The document was adopted by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on March 11.
