Ukraine is grateful to Luxembourg for its unwavering stance on assessing the consequences of Russia's armed aggression against our country.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov said this during a meeting with President of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies Fernand Etgen on March 23, Ukrinform reports with reference to the parliament’s press service.

"We highly appreciate that Luxembourg has consistently supported and is a co-author of all UN General Assembly resolutions on the Ukrainian issue in the context of Russia's armed aggression in Donbas and occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea," Razumkov said.

The speaker noted that the de-occupation of the peninsula is a priority for Ukraine. "The situation in Crimea continues to deteriorate in many areas of life, including from militarization to violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as long-term threats to the region's environmental security," he said.

The chairman of the parliament expressed hope for Luxembourg's further support for Ukraine's efforts to restore territorial integrity and invited local MPs to visit our country.

Razumkov also added that Ukraine supports Luxembourg's chairmanship in the UN Human Rights Council in 2022-2024.

According to him, relations between our countries have been developing rapidly recently. "Luxembourg is among the top ten countries in terms of EU investment in Ukraine. Over the nine months of last year, Ukraine received almost USD 1.2 billion in direct investment," Razumkov noted.

The Verkhovna Rada adopts decisions that will help attract investment. "The Ukrainian parliament has passed a number of bills to attract additional investment from foreign countries, I hope, from Luxembourg as well," he said.

In addition, Razumkov stressed the danger of completing the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

As Ukrinform reported, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov is on a working visit to Brussels (the Kingdom of Belgium) and Luxembourg (the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) on March 22-23.
