The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will soon adopt the public diplomacy strategy which should become an instrument of soft power consolidation to raise Ukraine's profile abroad and further strengthen the position of our country in the world.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine considers the strengthening of Ukraine's soft power abroad to be one of the fundamental functions of Ukrainian diplomacy. No country can be successful and attractive without the powerful soft power it can project in priority countries," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said during the discussion of Ukraine’s ranking in 2021 Global Soft Power Index, the Ministry’s press service informs.

He praised this year's growth of Ukraine's soft power index and noted that efforts should be systematic, requiring the synergy of all government institutions, civil society, experts and business.

“Soft power is not generated in one certain place. It is like a river that gains strength from all the affluxes and springs that fill it. We work closely with the ministries of culture and economic development, the State Agency for Tourism Development and other authorities to ensure synergy,” the diplomat said.

According to 2021 Global Soft Power Index, Ukraine ranked 61st out of 100 countries, boosting its figures in a number of categories.
