David Arakhamiya, the leader of the Servant of the People faction, thanked the U.S. Congress members for supporting Ukraine in the field of security.

"We are grateful to our partners from the United States for bipartisan support for our country's policy and the actions of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. We are currently actively communicating on a number of other issues, U.S. military support for Ukraine, fight against corruption and strengthening sanctions against Russia," Arakhamiya stated, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Servant of the People party’s website.

According to him, a group of senators of the U.S. Congress presented an updated Ukraine Security Partnership Act. It provides for financial assistance and strategic support. In particular, it stipulates a permit for military financing of Ukraine in the amount of up to $300 million a year. The document also calls for the appointment of a special envoy for Ukraine, who will represent the United States in the Normandy format peace talks.

Arakhamiya stressed that the document was a logical step in a set of measures to strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and the United States. There is also an agreement that communication with the U.S. Congress members will be regular, which will help create a united bipartisan front in support of Ukraine. To this end, the leader of the Servant of the People faction plans to hold online meetings with the U.S. Congress members and senators in the coming weeks.

As reported, U.S. Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick said that the United States intended to continue strong financial, military, security and other support for Ukraine against the background of aggression waged by the Russian Federation.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers submitted to the Senate a bill to strengthen security cooperation with Ukraine. The bill describes the history of the occupation of the territory of Ukraine since 1919 – from Soviet rule to the occupation by the German Nazis in the 1940s and by Russia in 2014.
