President puts in force sanctions against two Russian banks

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has put in force the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of March 11 on the imposition of sanctions against Russian JSC Sberbank and PJSC Prominvestbank.

As Ukrinform reports with reference to the website of the Head of State, Decree No.107 / 2021 was signed on March 19.

"In accordance with Article 107 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I order:

1. To put in force the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of March 11, 2021 "On the imposition of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)".

2. To entrust the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, enacted by this decree, to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council,” the document reads.

The Decree enters into force upon its publication.

As reported, on March 11, the National Security and Defense Council adopted a decision to extend the sanctions on two Russian banks, JSC Sberbank and PJSC Prominvestbank, which were to expire on March 15.
