Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan UTO Takashi discussed security issues in East Asia and Donbas, as well as Japan's participation in the Crimean Platform summit.

Ukraine’s Ambassador to Japan Serhiy Korsunsky wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"The talks between Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan UTO Takashi have just ended. Japan reaffirmed its unwavering support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and its readiness to continue to promote economic development and reforms. The frank conversation lasted for an hour. We discussed security issues in East Asia and Donbas, Japan's participation in the Crimean Platform summit, and the threats facing our state," Korsunsky wrote.

He said that after the conversation with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Taran will hold an online meeting with Minister of Defense of Japan Nobuo Kishi.

As reported, a visit of Ukrainian Defense Minister Andrii Taran to Japan – the first-ever in the history of bilateral relations – began on March 16.
